July 4th relax and spend time with your family.

Happy July 2nd to you! I am so relieved to say goodbye to June gloom and hello to July.
How are your plans shaping up for the long weekend? July 4th makes a great outdoor holiday ideal for barbecuing with family and friends and we get 3 whole days! As you will be outdoors this weekend make sure you protect your skin with the correct SPF. Our featured article below explains why.

I plan to stay home and spend some quality time with my finance this long weekend. Our August wedding is fast approaching and we still have some preparation to do, so doing nothing this holiday feel so good. We did do our cake tasting yesterday in Torrance so that's one more thing to cross off the list.
Want to know which cake we picked? We went for the chocolate with chocolate pudding filling. Yummy!

If you know a Bride to be let her know about our bridal spa packages!

With all the endless preparation that goes into a wedding it's rewarding to know there's a mobile spa service that delivers relaxation to your home or hotel location.

Wondering how to relax and spend time with friends and family this weekend?
A client asked me this question the other day. "How can I spend quality time with my family without giving up my spa day? I don't want to give up my special relaxation time but I want to see my family too". I asked her if she'd ever considered bringing in our chair massage service to her gathering.

Our chair massage works right in with your family gathering. You and your family members take turns to receive a 15- 30 minute neck and shoulder massage. This short massage will not interfere with the activities and it is extremely beneficial for relaxing tight shoulders, releasing tension in the lower back and neck.

Another reason chair massage works at gatherings is you and your family do not have to disrobe. We do the massage over your clothes. If you have any family members or friends embarrassed about removing their clothes, as in table massage, introduce them to our chair massage.

Have a great weekend and squeeze some massage or spa time into your weekend -you can do it all.

'Try This Miracle Cure For Dry Skin & Sore Tired Muscles.'

How was your Father's Day? I hope it was a special day for dad and that you relaxed and enjoyed it too.

We had a busy Father's Day weekend pampering dads, father in-laws and husbands!
I know you are comfortable receiving massage and spa services but there are some men who don't feel comfortable. That's why our in home spa service is a hit with the guys too! He can relax and rejuvenate in familiar surroundings.
If your guy is still hesitant, start him out with a hour long foot massage and scalp massage where he doesn't have to disrobe. Trust me, once he starts to unwind he'll get the hang of it and be joining you for treatments.

Now summer is in full swing, you are most likely preparing for your family vacation. With heightened airport security and gas price hikes, it can be more rewarding to stay home and enjoy a stay-cation. There are so many great things to see and do around Los Angeles, after all.

This was the thought of a new client who has just arranged for me and my team of 6 to provide spa treatments at his home for his big annual family reunion. He usually rents a house, three hours drive away but this year he decided to stay home and invite his family members to his home for a spa day! Their family consists of 3 little girls, 4 teens and 12 adults. We discussed a menu of spa services for everyone.
The little girls will receive chocolate or strawberry facials, mini manicures and pedicures. The teens will enjoy neck and shoulder massages, a reward for studying, deep cleansing facials and foot massages. The adults will relish full body massages, foot massages, manicures, pedicures and facials! I can't wait to see the faces of the little ones and hear the oohs and ahhhhs from the other family members as the tension melts away. What a great way to relax, bond and enjoy each others company.

Here's another stay-cation idea. If the kids are at camp for a couple of weeks, take advantage and create some quality time for you and your loved one and enjoy side by side massages. We bring fresh linens, music, candles and set up our massage tables on your deck, by your pool, in your living room or your bedroom. Just imagine, a whole day or evening to wind down and relax with no interruptions. Bliss. Just the two of you!

Let's not forget the graduates out there! Say well done and gift him or her with a relaxing spa treatment.
Make the time for yourself in a meaningful way. This balance of giving and receiving is essential to keeping your energy, mood and motivation at a consistently high level.

"Divine Intervention" from Serve the Goddess.

Spending the day being pampered at a spa is a fine thing indeed, but it's even more of an extravagance to be coddled in the comfort of your own home with a group of your closest friends. Serve the Goddess Mobile Spa Services strives to make the spa party experience an especially personalized and memorable one.

Helen and Allison arrived early to set up massage tables and the various accoutrements of relaxation. As the name implies, Serve the Goddess embraces the Greek deity theme. The spa offers a line of aromatherapy mists and oils with names like Aphrodite's Delight and Demeter's Retreat, and each attendee gets to choose a favorite scent to be incorporated into her treatments. We were each to receive a 30-minute full-body massage, plus our choice of a rejuvenating mini facial or a 30-minute foot reflexology treatment. But before the hands-on pampering began, Helen led us in a brief meditation. This helped us to achieve a state of calm and refocus our energy on the physical and spiritual rejuvenation to come.

The next couple of hours were all about indulgence. After 30 minutes of blissful Swedish bodywork, Helen went straight into the facial, using hot towels and all-natural concoctions to cleanse and moisturize the skin. Because this was a mini facial, there were no extractions to suffer through, so the treatment only deepened the sense of relaxation and well being fostered by the massage.

Our Mother's Day contest winner

If you remember our contest was to write in 500 words or less, why your wife/mom/sister/friend/mother of your children is the best mom and deserves to be pampered with a complimentary one hour massage.

"I know a Mom who has raised 2 wonderful grown sons. Both know how to treat their wife and fiancee with respect and kindness ~ in my mind a Mother's primary reward in how a son turns out!
This Mom is in her senior years and until lately been able to enjoy life with her husband of 56 years. Senior ills and restrictions have been setting in with the sons researching in-home care for their parents.
Just in the past two weeks, the Mom's world fell apart in rapid succession. She got into a car accident meaning that she cannot drive herself anymore. Then her husband appeared to have had a stroke and is now in declining health status suffering from colon cancer that once under control has now spread. The prognosis
is not good.
Mother's day has been a difficult day for this Mom. Some pampering and care is in order and I wish your prize be given to her".
We made sure this Mom received the pampering nurturing massage she needed!

Mother's Day is May 9th.

It's hard to believe it's Mother's Day on May 9th that's less than two weeks away!
My mom lives miles away in England as some of you know, so I only see her once a year. I cherish the childhood memories of her rubbing my stomach when I was sick, helping me with my homework and being home to greet me with a smile when I returned from school.
Mother's are so special and they deserve to be pampered & treated like a Goddess this Mother's Day.
Check our our special spa packages & instant gift certificates created for Mother's Day.
Our spa parties are a great idea if you prefer to get together with your girlfriends this Mother's Day. Send your husbands out with the kids and enjoy mini spa services such as massage, mini manicures, pedicures and more!
I know you are busy but I invite you to take some ME time so you can keep in balance. As women and caretakers we are typically the last ones to nurture ourselves!

Chocolate makes you feel good.

Valentine's Day is a couple of weeks away and I am dreaming about chocolate. I don't know about you but I love chocolate. It makes me feel passionate and loving.
Chocolate has long been associated with romance and love and the history of chocolate goes way back to the Aztecs. They believed chocolate was a source of spiritual wisdom, incredible energy and elevated sexual power.
Why does chocolate make us feel so good? The reason is because chocolate contains alkaloids the most important of which is theobromine. Theobromine is known to stimulate the kidneys and the central nervous system with similar effects to caffeine.
Another important substance found in chocolate is phenylethylamine, which is part of a group of chemicals known as endorphins, the mood lifting hormones.
Another chemical found in chocolate is seratonin. Seratonin is known for its calming properties.
So now you know why you feel so good when you eat chocolate. It's the presence of these chemicals!
In our next post we'll discuss adding a couples massage for Valentine's Day.
