Make the benefits of your massage last longer.

What’s the worst thing that could happen after your massage? You jump right into an activity that completely reverses the benefits of your massage. A long list comes to mind. Here goes. You jump off the massage table scrambling to find your clothes to get dressed. You check your phone for messages and return calls frantically. You have planned an event in 30 minutes which involves a 45 minute drive. I think you get my drift. When you schedule your massage please allow yourself some time to re-enter your world slowly. Better yet, schedule your massage time after your work is complete so it’s your reward for your hard work. Remember your massage should relax, de-stress and rejuvenate you for hours after your session has ended.

Massage makes you feel good.

Did you manage to take some time out for yourself yesterday? Maybe you managed to step away from the computer for 20 minutes? My aim is to encourage you to take some quality time so you can be healthy physically and mentally. I’ve discussed before in previous posts how stress affects the body and how much damage it can do. Long terms effects are high blood pressure, over taxed immune system resulting in frequent colds and worse flu. . So how does massage tie into all this? Well, massage counteracts the effects of stress. Massage lowers the blood pressure, boosts the immune system, increases the circulation and releases endorphins. Endorphins are the feel good hormones. That’s why you feel so good after a massage. How do you feel after your massage? I welcome your comments.

Put yourself first.

This may sound selfish at first but think about it. If you are stressed out you can't possibly take care of others effectively. Taking time out for you can be a simple as walking in nature for 20 minutes a day. Find your nearest park or if you're lucky enough to live close to the ocean kick your shoes off and walk on the sand. There's something so therapeutic about being outside away from the computer and phone that rejuvenates the spirit. Leave your phone in the car and resist the temptation to talk on your phone on your walk. Try it today and let me know how good you feel.

Say no to holiday stress.

As the holidays fast approach I am reminded how easy it is to fall sick due to the stress of the holiday preparations. Stress is normal and the body copes very well in producing the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline. But when the stress is chronic, other systems in the body like the immune system are put on hold while the body copes with the stress. That is one of the reasons we end up with colds and flu. As a woman and caretaker I invite you all to take some time for yourself now and schedule a massage in the comfort and convenience of your home. Massage boosts your immune system and de-stresses your body.

IMAGINE A WOMAN

Imagine a woman who believes it is right and good she is a woman.
A woman who honors her experience and tells her stories.
Who refuses to carry the sins of others within her body and life.

Imagine a woman who trusts and respects herself.
A woman who listens to her needs and desires.
Who meets them with tenderness and grace.

Imagine a woman who acknowledges the past's influence on the present.
A woman who has walked through her past.
Who has healed into the present.

Imagine a woman who authors her own life.
A woman who exerts, initiates, and moves on her own behalf.
Who refuses to surrender except to her truest self and wisest voice.

Imagine a woman who names her own gods.
A woman who imagines the divine in her image and likeness.
Who designs a personal spirituality to inform her daily life.

Imagine a woman in love with her own body.
A woman who believes her body is enough, just as it is.
Who celebrates it's rhythms and cycles as an exquisite resource.

Imagine a woman who honors the body of the Goddess in her changing body.
A woman who celebrates the accumulation of her years and wisdom.
Who refuses to use her life-energy disguising the changes in her body and life.

Imagine a woman who values the women in her life.
A woman who sits in circles of women.
Who is reminded of the truth about herself when she forgets.

IMAGINE YOURSELF AS THIS WOMAN.

Got allergies and sinus problems?

More and more people in the U.S suffer from sinus problems due to rising pollution and chemicals in the environment. An alternative to taking drugs is the daily practice of nasal cleansing using a neti pot and aromatherapy massage. The neti pot looks likes a small tea pot with a long spout and is a safe efficient way to deliver a good cleansing dose of saline to the nose. Check out your local health food store for a neti pot.
We just introduced an Allergy Relief Massage for the seasonal allergy suffers out there. In this massage we use eucalyptus, cedarwood, french lavender and roman chamomile. These particular essential oils are wonderful for easing cold like symptoms caused by allergies. When you are feeling under the weather the last thing you want is to be out in public. Our mobile spa service brings relief and relaxation to your door. Our convenient hours are 9am - 9pm every day. We service your area. Los Angeles, Orange County, South Bay and the Inland Empire.

Keep colds away with a massage.

If you receive a massage on a regular basis you actually help your body fight infection. New research has proven that people who get regular massage have a stronger immune system.
Massage increases the activity of white blood cells, which target and destroy infectious agents. With regular massage, your immune system is strengthened, rather than stimulated and becomes much more robust. Massage therapy has made a vast improvement in the lives of many HIV infected patients. Today, massage therapy is regarded as a restorative type of therapy.

Do you get headaches?

Suffer from headaches? Before you raid the medicine cabinet consider scheduling a massage. As there are different types of headaches you should discuss the types of headaches that you suffer from with your massage therapist to ensure that he or she chooses the best type of massage for your situation. Stress and tension headaches may respond best to aromatherapy massage however a headache that is the result of a pinched nerve may be best treated with deep tissue massage. Your massage therapist is best qualified to determine which type of massage will be of the most benefit so it is important to discuss all of your concerns or questions during your interview.
